Dear List , overlayfs support or unionfs support are critical for supporting usage of low cost arm systems used a thinclients. eg LTSP based thinclients use overlayfs to provide a writable rootfs over a read only nfs filesystem.
I have been able to netboot a mele-m3 using a kernel from https://github.com/x-drum/linux-sunxi/releases/tag/3.4.79-ovl13 it boots fine. In large deployment netbooting provide centralized management of the firmwares that run on the thinclient hence it is important.
