Hi All, I've just pushed a load of patches towards my github fork https://github.com/codekipper/linux-sunxi/commits/audio_mainlining which now gives spdif functionality to the Mele A1000 boards. There is also additional patches that bring I2S into the kernel however I've not had a chance to verify this. I must thank Andrea Venturi for helping out with this task, he debugged my driver and helped with my development setup. He has been able to get I2S singing with the uda1380 connect to a Olimex A20 EVB.
I wanted to get these out ASAP as I'm off on vacation tomorrow and they've been stewing for ages. When I'm back we'll start the process of getting these into mainline. I know that things can be broken on sunxi-wip (for example I can't get the audio codec to work on it at the moment whereas it works on linux-next) but I realise that a lot of people do use it. If anybody can test this....and feed back any issues that would be great. I've played 44100Hz and 192000Hz flacs and they sound ace. On linux-sunxi 3.4 192K flacs would stutter. The correct probe order for the spdif modules are as follows: modprobe snd-soc-sunxi-dai-spdif modprobe snd-soc-sunxi-machine-spdif with my debian setup they seem to hotplug without issue.
