I had a further look into this. It looks as if USB and Ethernet support are still not upstream. Unfortunately forward porting the patches from 4.9 proved to be very tricky, and there were a few conflicts that I really didn't know how to resolve (hello "arm: dts: sun8i: split Allwinner H3 .dtsi").
