80x50 text font corrupted on exit

I'm running in 80x50 mode, and when I exit a program that uses SVGAlib, all
I get is the top half of the standard font.  I've tried the various
utilities that are supposed to save and restore the text mode, but they
also leave the text corrupted.  What am I doing wrong?
