Sometimes this can happen because of your video card and/or the driver -- not because of faulty code.
For example, I had an app once that would behave erratically, and I was going crazy trying to figure it out, but it ended up being my hardware.

You are kidding me right? Actually I am working on a small version of svgalib with uClibc, I hope to get the library to 20-30k.There is no real SVGAlib staff -- most requests such as this must be fulfilled by the "requester".
And my flickering problem was because of page flipping. I added some more code to perform page flipping using vga, like the code in vgagl.
