It is.  Even higher that ARKEIRA AFAIK.

However, you can specify the defaults in /ect/conf.modules.
See man modprobe.

Which does not help if the data that arrives at the tape drive
is already mangled ... there should always be a way to test
whether the data is up-to-date with the HD.  IMHO.
