It should. AFAIK the par port driver is working in most
cases. There seem to be some older motherboard/BIOS
combinations which may have problems with enhanced lp-modes.

Does this mean modul support?

Did you make the devices during make install?

Please show us your /etc/conf.modules and the relevant part
of /var/log/messages.
