Iomega Ditto 2Gb

I have recently installed an Iomega Ditto 2Gb drive into my Linux 2.0.36 (RedHat 5.1) 
box,
and compiled ftape 4.02, and ftape tools 1.02. After putting in my floppy controller 
details,
I managed to get the 'ftmt status' command to work (returns some stuff, the drive 
light flashes),
but anything else returns 'Device not configured'. Any ideas?
