I'm lost here, which card do you have? The ditto dash does not need
the isapnptools as it is a hardware configured card. I know that
Iomega has another card which does need these tools though.

The gcc problem seems unrelated to the ftape problem, however it can
fail for a whole slew of reasons. (Wrong libraries, or missing header
files, etc) Does it fail during a compilation or does gcc not run at
all?
