Well, I didn't waste too many brain cells (I think they would have been 
unused anyway. I continued the search and found the the 
include/linux/sched.h file changed and where there was a reference to 
timeout as a member of that structure in the 2.0.x kernels, it is 
missing in the 2.2.1 kernel.

Beyond that I am lost.
