Hi !
I just compiled & installed ftape-4.x-1999_02_07 on my RedHat 5.2 Alpha
machine (PC164, 21164 500Mhz). I have an Exabyte TR-3.
The thing cleanly compiles (except 1-2 warnings), but doesn't seem to work.
Here's what I get when ftmt -f /dev/qft0 status :
Feb 8 12:00:35 alpha kernel: Compiled for Linux version 2.2.0
Feb 8 12:00:35 alpha kernel: installing QIC-117 floppy tape hardware drive
...
Feb 8 12:00:35 alpha kernel: ftape_init @ 0xfffffe000002c348.
Feb 8 12:00:36 alpha kernel: zftape for ftape v4.03-pre-2 11/05/98
Feb 8 12:04:12 alpha kernel: [000] 0 fdc-io.c (fdc_init) -
fdc_search_driver(ftape->drive_sel) failed: -6.
Feb 8 12:04:12 alpha kernel: [001] 0 ftape-ctl.c (ftape_enable) -
fdc_init(ftape) failed: -6.
ftmt: /dev/qft0: Priphrique non configur. (ftmt: /dev/qft0: Peripheral
not configured)
Here's my /etc/conf.modules
#
# load ftape/zftape automatically
#
alias char-major-27 zftape
pre-install ftape /sbin/swapout 5
Thanks for helping.
