TR3 tapes are 1.6 GB.
Salesmen usually claims that every tapestreamer has double it's real
capacity, their "argument" is that compression will make everything half
as big.
That's of course bogus, since the compression ratio depends on the data
and can be everywhere from 1:1 to some incredible ratio. I have seen real
world database files that could be compressed to a 1:27 with gzip -4.
Tell that to your salesdroid and he will start claiming that his TR3
drives can store 42 GB ;-)
