RH 5.2 and Ditto 2G

Could someone help step me through the installation process for the RedHat
5.2 (2.0.36) and Ditto 2G external parallel port tape backup drive?

I've read the instructions for ftape-4.03-pre-02 several times, and I just
can't figure out how to:

    1) start the process
    2) convert (configure?) the files for external par port Ditto

I'm a neophyte at this - so I'll need someone who's willing to email me the
step-by-step procedures.
