Chris, please check the I/O port address of your onboard floppy
controller and make sure that it's where the ftape-internal modules
expects to find it. Also, remember that the default IRQ and DMA for the
onboard floppy are IRQ 6 and DMA 2. To determine the I/O address, cat
/proc/ioports and look for floppy. The address you want is the first
number in the range pair (i.e. 3f0-3f5 - you want the 3f0).

If required, you can override the setting for these parameters by
passing them as arguments to the insmod/modprobe of ftape-internal.o (I
recommend insmod since doesn't really do anything special for you in
this case). Here's an example of what I mean:

  insmod ftape-internal ft_fdc_irq=6 ft_fdc_dma=2 ft_fdc_base=0x3f0

Good luck.
