Hi - is the parallel port of a notebook different from usual parallel ports? So far I was able to install ditto max external on desktops and towers of my own and of some of my friends successfully (after some time of fiddling around with it ... well, it's a bad drive, but anyway), but recently I failed in doing so on a toshiba satellite 2520 under redhat 5.2 and kernel 2.2.3. I tried the unstable versions 1999_02_26 and 1999_03_17 - both with no success, BIOS settings SPP bidirectional and ECP, also without any success; insmod and modprobe - with and without parport/parport_pc - really no configuration made ditto work.
