It shouldn't be a Ditto 2GB - It's a Colorado DJ-20 (QIC-80 250MG) Tape
Drive

Please forgive a stupid question... I see in the header that it should
be 0xaa55aa55. How do I check to see if that is the Magic Number?
Follow up stupid question.. I understand what a bad sector is... I'm
assuming the bad sector map is just a listing of bad sectors but where
is the bad sector map, and how do I view it?

This is not unique to any specific tape. This happens with all tapes.
I even have a blank, unformatted tape right out of the shrink wrap that
I tried it on.

I am using the latest ftformat, no help. I will try using the Windows
NT format on the tape, then I'll come back and try doing the format
again. I really do not think its a problem with the tape though, because
I can not read tapes that had previously been written with ftape when it
was working (about a year ago prior to a million and a half upgrades).
