Hi, folks. I've noticed that around half the mail that goes through this
list concerns problems compiling the stable ftape drivers on a 2.2 kernel.
I just wanted to say that, when I posted (probably about a month ago)
asking about this problem, I did it as a last resort after about three
solid days of hair-tearing effort. I couldn't find any information about
2.2 kernels on the ftape web site, and there seemed no fathomable reason
to try an unstable driver when the stable one didn't work. :>

I think it would be a good thought to add something to the ftape web site
saying, "If you're using kernel 2.2, use the unstable version!" so that
people can make ftape work before posting. This might make a good
question for the FAQ. What say ye?
