Hello -
just for your interest - this is the way I load the modules for an
external ditto max under 2.2.6:

/etc/conf.modules:
######### ftape fr Ditto max ##########################
alias char-major-27 zftape.o
options ftape.o ft_fdc_driver=bpck-fdc,none,none,none ft_tracings=4,4,4,4,4
options bpck-fdc ft_fdc_irq=7 ft_fdc_base=0x378
pre-install zftape modprobe -r lp

Both lp and ftape want to use the same irq - impossible; this has helped
some people;

I didn't manage to run ftape / ditto successfully when the parport
modules had been loaded; so I would say, it's worth trying to load
ftape, zftape and bpck-fdc without having loaded parport and parport_pc
before.

(I can't interpret the remaining log messages)

cheers, juergen.

P.S.: I'm surprised how you managed to cope with that compilation
problem - really great!
