Boris -
When you configure the kernel to get ready to use the new ftape drivers
(you must rebuild a kernel), there are options during the configuration
that enable certain aspects of kernel module support. By default, only
the first option is enabled (set to YES). You need to ensure that all
three of these are set to YES and rebuild and install a new kernel.
These show up under make menuconfig as:
[*] Enable loadable module support
[*] Set version information on all symbols for modules
[*] Kernel daemon support (e.g. autoload of modules)
Good luck.
