The RedHat 2.2.5-15 kernel for 6.0 has bugs. My personal recommendation,
based on six+ hours of working with the system (brand new hardware, weird
errors, etc)
is to NOT try to work with the default kernel. Download the 2.2.9 kernel
and recompile. This will fix the majority of problems, including allowing
you to use the ftape modules built in (I was never able to use my
Colorado-350 drive with 2.2.5, because of I/O errors, but once I put in
2.2.9, no I/O errors anymore.
