I am using ftape 4.03pre-0630 successfully with a parallel-port
iomega-ditto800 and a internal ArchiveSystem/Seagate/Conner 91250-Streamer.

ftape-4.xpre-0630 runs fine as a module with both drives, but I want
more :-)

1.How can I compile it into the kernel?
I want to build a rescue-kernel for restoring my system from tape, but
until now I didn`t find an easy way to compile ftape into the kernel.

 2.How can I format a tape in my Seagate/Conner 91250-streamer running
under linux? With ftape-tools (from march) and ftmt I had no luck. ftmt
reports something like "firmware reports format-pattern 0xaa, aborting"
and thats all.
With Windows95-950a and the windows-backup I can format the tapes without
flaw, but I simply don`t have windows available at the computer and need
to take the streamer out and connect to another system for formating a tape.
Thats quite boring :-]
