I have not yet been able to "talk" to the floppy tape drive, although the
"messages" log did indicate that the ftape modules were inserted
successfully. Every attempt to talk to the tape drive has resulted in the
following message in the log file:

Sep 26 09:37:35 antarctica kernel: [021] 0 ftape-rw.c
(ftape_wait_segment) - fdc_interrupt_wait failed.

I am using an Exabyte Eagle TR-3 tape drive with Ftape 4.02. My kernel
version is 2.0.33. I did not apply the "floppy.c" kernel patch but enabled
the "-DBROKEN_FLOPPY_DRIVER" option.

It would keep rewinding the tape endlessly until I hit CTL-C. If this is a
FAQ, I would appreciate if someone could point me to the right source. I
have looked through the FAQ that came with the "ftape-4.x-doc-1.03"
distribution, but was unable to find anything relevant.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Alex
