Seagate scorpion DAT installation

Hi there, 
this may be a silly question,
but how do I connect to a scsii tape drive. Its recognised on bootup,
but where/how is it mounted? I guess I use mt -f, but which option? I'm
running RH 2.2-15smp, tried loads of FAQ's/HOWTO's but no joy.

Is there an easy solution or faq I can look at?
