Hi!

Trying to kill the keyboard, [EMAIL PROTECTED] produced:

And then only sort of, someone reported here that (IIRC)
even moving or resizing windows under Windows while backing up
throws the tape into fits of repositionings. And that with a
'high end' machine for the quoted specs for the tape.

So the 4000 Mbit is a theoretical value, the 3000 Mbit is a 'If
you can get it, feel happy' -- much like >52 Kbit connections
with a 56 Kbit modem. And that's probably much the same
under Windows.

Note that about half of the bandwith is taken up by the protocol
and once you stopp streaming (and start repositioning) the
data rate drops *hard*. That's why you may be faster when
limiting the datarate.

We probably all agree here that the Max (Pro) is pushing
design limits of Intel-hardware very hard ... and that other
(albeit more expensive) solutions happen to work better.
