Hi Henning, I had a similar problem recently and folks on this list helped me out :-} I suggest you compile your kernel WITHOUT support for the ftape - device ( looks like suse is shipping an old version that does not work for the 2.2.x kernels ). Then get the newest version of ftape ( is marked unstable but due to this list should work ok ). Compile it and install it as described in the readme. --> this should work ( worked for me anyway ) Good luck Bert Radke
