hello ,

i've just installed the 'unstable' version off the ftape 4.02 on a SUSE 6.1
linux with a kernel version of 2.2.7

when i try the test mentioned in the documenation everthing works fine
the status give me this :
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is a Conner TSM850R/1700R/TST3200R floppy tape drive, (drive type = 0x0156)
drive status = 0x00b2996d
generic drive status = 0x45000000
(In particular: * at begin of tape * tape write protected * tape online * )
sense key error = 0x00000000
residue count = 0
file number = 0
block number = 0

MTIOCVOLINFO result:
file number = 0
block size = 1024
physical space used = 222.6 megabytes
real size of volume = 222.6 megabytes

MTIOCGETSIZE result:
total bytes on tape = 382.2 megabytes
total bytes used = 222.7 megabytes
total bytes left = 159.6 megabytes

--------------------------------------------------------------------
this look's fine but i have one problem. When i try to write something to de
tape device , i't alway's give me an error that this is not possible on a read
only file system :
this i found in my syslog file :
