I recently upgraded from RedHat 5.1 (kernel 2.0.35) to Redhat 6.0
(kernel 2.2.5-15) and the ftape no longer works. when tring to use it
with tar i receive the message:

tar: Cannot open /dev/rft0: no such device
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

The hardware is Exabyte Qic 3020 and worked fine using the ftape-2.08
version but is not working with the ftape v3.04d 25/11/97 .
after trying to run tar, the following messages are logged:
