First, get the latest version of ftape:
ftp://ftp.LinuxTapeCert.org/ftape/.

Next, yes, the latest ftapes works great (in relative terms) with the
Easy3200.  Just make sure that you're running with a Ditto DASH card. 
My best results have been achieved using teh DASH configured to share
the DMA and IRQ with the onboard floppy (IRQ=6, DMA=2), and IO=0x370.

Oh, and you don't need the IDE-TAPE stuff.  That's a different type of
interface.
