Trying to kill the keyboard, Thauer Peter ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
produced 2,1K in 66 lines:

ftape tries to write to a bad spot on the tape, which it does
not know about yet. If your backup compares OK, don't worry,
if not, you have serious trouble anyway.
You can update the information about bad spots with ftformat,
but that will erase the tape, IIRC.
