Obviously Not My Day - Iomega 2gb

First of all apology to all for having request read receipt set on my
posting.  That was dumb on my part.

Not my day obviously.  I am using an internal Iomega 2gb. ftmt consistently
reports that the tape is write protected when it is not.
I tried using a colorado t 1000. ftmt reports that the tape is not write
protected.

When I try to write to a tape in either device I using dd I get permission
denied or invalid argument, even if I specify a bs of 1024/

Any suggestions.
