Well, I give up. I just can't get ftformat to work. I've tried just about
every variant of the command line I can think of, and I still get the same
error - "Unknown format API version. Giving up"

What's curious is that I can't find a /dev/rawft0, 1, 2, 3
I have /dev/rawqft0, 1, 2, 3 - same thing?
Anyone have any ideas about what I need to do to be able to format tapes?
I have some MC 3000XL's formatted to QIC-3010 that I'd like to reformat to
QIC-3020. After I give ftformat the command line below, the drive
shoeshines for about 20 minutes and then ftformat comes up with the
"unknown API" error. I tried other tapes, same problem.
