I posted the same question, got the same response, but it didn't solve my problem.
However, I think I may have inadvertantly stumbled on the reason ... I DON'T have a
printer installed. There is no /proc/paraport.
Have you resolved yours yet? I'm using RH 6.2 (2.2.15-5) with Ditto Easy 3.2gb, also
parallel port.
