Do not know if it is the same in Solaris 2.6. or 2.7 but in Solaris 2.5.1
it works. Also this procedure is for x86
First you have to create an archive in /etc/ with the name
defaultrouter, and inside that archive you have to put the ip address of
your gateway ( this is static routing ).
After that you also need another archive in etc /etc/netmasks and ther you
put
network_number netmask
After that you create an archive in /etc/hostname.tipo_de_interfaz ( here
tipo_de_interfaz means that you have to know which network card you are
using, for example if you are using a 3cometherlink III, you would put
/etc/hostname.elx0
and inside that archive you have to put the ip address associated with the
NIC. Then in /etc/hosts you assign the IP with a name. Finally you make
touch /reconfigure ( So next time the machine boots it creates de devices
).
Hope this helps you.
