Hello Claus, hello everybody on the list,
let me first thank Claus for several years of work for all of us.
He has done a great job in maintaining ftape, giving support and developing
new features and ideas.
Now for the Subject : No, I am not going to take over the job of the ftape maintainer.
I am totally lacking the skills that would be necessary for this job, as C knowledge,
some degree of insight into linux structures etc etc.
What I can do and will do is to offer the new maintainer help in the following form :
- I can donate a domain & webspace for ftape, maybe also a user forum
- my own linux server for testing : dual PII with Conner TR3-drive and accelerator
card, running COL 2.2 with a 2.2.14 kernel
- help in maintaining & updating manuals and the like
I hope that this offer makes the decision for somebody with the technical skills
easier.
Ftape is an important part of the linux driver zoo, let us feed it accordingly !
