Hi!

I recently managed to get ftape4.-04a to compile. However, doing the test
like specified in the FAQ of

tar cf /dev/nqft0 /directory
ftmt -f /dev/nqft0 rewind

and then trying to compare with

tar df /dev/nqft0 /directory

results in endless backspacing and forwarding of the drive (Iomega Ditto Max
Pro). The drive and the tape work just find in Windows. Any idea how I can
fix this? I had to eventually shutdown after about 45 minutes (about 300
cycles of this forward-and-back) over the same tape segment. There were
errors printed to the screen during shutdown but they scrolled by too fast
and SCROLL-LOCK would not work. I glimpsed something about "CRC errors" and
"ECC".

How can I fix this? The rest of the fuctions (retension, eod, reset, eject)
all work fine and "ftmt -f /dev/nqft0 status" correctly ID's my drive as an
Iomega Ditto Max Pro. If a backup made under Windows is on the tape the
"status" command detects this normally and displays info regarding that.

Any help appreciated!
