yes, for two reasons:

1. Expected behaviour of clients that explicitly turn this off
2. We advertise that the client apps/libdrizzle turn this off by default as a 
sort-of sql injection preventative measure, so there is the embarrassment factor

I thought I had fixed.  I guess not if this is still open.
