Title:
Drizzle handling empty '--' option at startup differently on different
  platforms

Status in A Lightweight SQL Database for Cloud Infrastructure and Web
Applications:
  Confirmed
Status in Drizzle 7.0 series:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
On Ubuntu 9.10, attempting to start the server with an empty '--'
option results in a bad server start.

On other platforms, like Ubuntu 10.04, the server starts fine.

Monty theorizes it is tied to boost version, which seems plausible.
Writing up per his request to track / account for this behavior.
