Hello. As far as I can see, this bug is still valid. As I said in the original text, this is a bug in Ubuntu-specific code (written by Mario Limonciello), so is not affected by upstream changes. Looking in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- branches/ubuntu/vivid/mythtv/vivid/view/head:/debian/mythtv-setup.sh the script still calls xterm specifically, rather than x-terminal-emulator as I believe it should.

Instead, it should call x-terminal-emulator in order to run the users preferred terminal emulator. This would result in a more unified experience for the user - e.g. displaying the same fonts and using the same scrolling mechanism with which the user is familiar. There might be a problem with different terminal emulators using different command-line parameters. For example, gnome-terminal and roxterm use --title rather than -title that xterm uses.
