Here's some more info.

I booted 2.4.2-ac12 w/o the mouse attached.
I loaded the modules the mouse needs, then
plugged in the mouse while watching my syslog.

hub.c: port 1 connection change
hub.c: port 1, portstatus 301, change 1, 1.5 Mb/s
hub.c: port 1, portstatus 303, change 10, 1.5 Mb/s
usb.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 2
Kernel BUG at slab.c:1407!

The code section looks the same.
The call trace looks similar too, not up
to typing the oops to run ksymoops on it.
Maybe after lunch.
