Hmm. I think I hit this bug at least a couple of months ago while
testing Enrico Bravin's experimental usb-ide driver. Perhaps it
would be beneficial to get a code review or some debugging assistance
for this particular problem? Do you have others working with you on
the uhci driver or is it pretty much a one man show?
Once this bug is fixed, I think USB development community could make
a pretty strong case to Linus and Alan that moving forward with one HCD.
We should go through some formal decision process, rather than
deciding to use uhci just because its kinks are worked out. The other
factors should be weighed before we make our choice.
