I meant to send some. I think you're right about much of the info
that needs to be exposed -- collecting that is good stuff. But I'm
not sure the "how" (file with lots of metadata, another syntax to
parse) or "what" (notably for USB, where I have a few opinions :)
are "cooked" enough yet. But as you said: not before 2.5; there's
enough time to integrate this with other hotplug support (for
example, maybe the "scsimon" work).
When I follow up, I'll do so to the hotplug list.
