N.B. All of the following is just my opinion - I am not a USB-IF member,
nor do I have more than an outsiders view.
The whole Common Class stuff looks like it basically died the "death of requirements
creep" (aka feeping creaturism). They made a Common class by adding in every
requirement
for every class.
A common class driver wouldn't be too hard to do, once you got the parsing down. It is
basically just a redirector AFAICT. But what is the point - no-one seems to have a
device
that uses Common Class.
As for your design, it might be cleaner just to have different interface for each
device
you might become. Or just disconnect, reconfigure and reconnect the device.
