I thought this was just one of my configs ... 2.4.2-ac20
has the same problem. Lack of "devmode" makes it hard
to use usbdevfs from user mode drivers ... nasty.
Seems that the mount options aren't even getting handed
to usbdevfs, though /etc/mtab thinks it passed them to the
kernel ... the kernel seems to call usbdevfs_read_super()
when the filesystem is registered, but not later when it really
gets mounted.
Did that bugfix to prevent multiple mounts break this?
Comments from someone who's fs-aware would help!
