Hi, Randy, I am trying to set up the gcc tool chain for PowerPC 860 target. Could you please point out where I can download the egcs-1.1.2? And what's difference between egcs-core-*** and egcs-***? The ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gun/gcc do have this version and the ftp://gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/release need a password, is that a open source? Thanks in advance, Li Yi "Dunlap, Randy" wrote: > Hi, > > There are a couple of issues here. > First, use a current kernel, like 2.4.0-test12 > (or are you using 2.3.42 just so that you can have the > EZ USB driver ?). > > Second, as Linus just said today, don't use RH 7.0 with > kgcc for any kernel development work. > The expected/required gcc version for 2.4 kernels > is 2.91.66 (egcs-1.1.2). > > If you insist on using the gcc with RH 7.0, be sure that > you are using "kgcc" and not "gcc" for kernel compiles. > > And include the compiler errors that you are getting. > > ~Randy > _______________________________________________ > |randy.dunlap_at_intel.com 503-677-5408| > |NOTE: Any views presented here are mine alone| > |& may not represent the views of my employer.| > ----------------------------------------------- > > > From: Li Yi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > > > Hi, > > I am a beginner of Linux USB driver.
