David Brownell can tell you. He implemented it.
I think it went in around 2.4.3. Come to think of it,
I don't know for sure that the fix is in one of Linus'
kernels. I am sure it's in Alan Cox's tree, though.
I am away from my testing machine, but if you aren't
able to nail this down by Monday, let me know and I'll
research it.
