I've checked now with a couple devices which agree on this:
{{0, 0}, { 0,-1}, { 1,-1}, { 1, 0}, { 1, 1}, { 0, 1}, {-1, 1}, {-1, 0}, {-1,-1}}
This also agrees with the CVS version and Linus's version.
So, the patch seems to be correct. Only Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro
won't work with this as far as I know. There may be a couple more
devices.
This change happened back and forth a couple times already, because for
everyone this is an 'obvious fix' either way ...
I'll have to find my Precision Pro and look at its HID descriptor to see
if some magic is hidden there (HID null-values, etc).
