I have a HP 6200c USB scanner. It works reasonably well with 2.4.9, but
with 2.4.10 , 2.4.13 and 2.4.14 it refuses to work. I'm using a VIA
motherboard.

Note that it doesn't list the vendor string for the scanner ?

Under 2.4.10+ , the output is much the same.

If i run 'scanimage out.pnm' with 2.4.9, the response is quite quick. With
2.4.10+, there is some life from the scanner, but i never get an image.

Using xscanimage and GIMP, with 2.4.9 is works most of the time, but is
very flakey. If i push it too hard, it tends to fall over. If i'm gentle
with it (long time between successive commands), it isn't too bad.

Using xscanimage and GIMP, with 2.4.10+ fails 99% of the time. I did once
get an image, but only ever once.
