I'm very close to having the USB floppy drive on my Sony Vaio working
correctly -- all that's left is getting it to insmod the sd_mod module
automatically when I plug in the drive (it is insmod'ing the scsi_mod
and usb-storage modules). So, near as I can tell, this means an entry
for the drive needs to be added to /lib/modules/2.4.6/modules.usbmap
(if possible) or /etc/hotplug/usb.handmap.

Looking at http://linux-hotplug.sourceforge.net/?selected=usb
it appears that modules.usbmap is created by depmod -a. How? Is
there a database somewhere I should be able to edit to include the
drive? Alternatively, reading usb.handmap, it is documented as being
in ``modutils format.''

So... where is modutils format documented? Alternatively, is there
already an entry for a Y-E Data, Inc. FlashBuster-U floppy drive? I
notice it is in the device ID list at http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids.

I should mention that I'm running debian hotplug version 0.0.20010919-2
