hi all,

I'm using usb-cams since a long time. I'm shure, I had tested to use 2
cams at the same time several months ago - and they were working fine.

But now (kernel 2.4.9 and 2.4.14) on 2 different PCs with a different
hardware, the following happens, if I try to access 2 cams at the same
time:

--------------------------------------------------
kernel: pwc Adding decompressor for model 740.
kernel: pwc pwc_isoc_handler() called with status -84 [CRC/Timeout].
kernel: pwc pwc_isoc_handler() called with status -84 [CRC/Timeout].
kernel: hub.c: port 1 enable change, status 101
kernel: hub.c: already running port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?),
re-enabling...
 kernel: hub.c: port 1, portstatus 101, change 2, 12 Mb/s
kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 2
kernel: pwc Disconnected while device/video is open!
kernel: pwc pwc_isoc_handler() called with status -84 [CRC/Timeout].
 last message repeated 3001 times
---------------------------------------------------
the message:
kernel: hub.c: already running port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?),
re-enabling...

always appears, if I access the second cam. One of the cams is locked
then. (it hangs on ioctl-VIDIOSYNC)

It does not matter, what kind of cam I use. (I've tried pwc and ov511)
If I stop one of the reading-processes, the other cam then starts to work
again.

I am shure, it's n cable-problem.....

Any hint or ideas ?

best regards

wicki :*)
