I have two on my lab desk. They are based on the NEC chipset that have apparently been recalled. I don't know what the failure mode(s) is(are), but I recall being told that it was a descriptor enumeration problem. AFAICT, mine are enumerating fine - certainly a lot more reliably than the early cypress chips. I haven't checked if they are still available, but I'd be willing to buy one or two and send them (or send the ones I have), perhaps minus the power supply, to developers who can use them. Johannes?
